Shopping in the Big Apple
To shop is a sport!
It is a must to shop when you are in New York. There are a lot of range of shopping and it can be a good idea to peek in many different shops on the same item, then many shops are competing for the customers.
Here you can find everything from clothes, electronics, CD/DVD´s, antiques, furnitures... yes everything you can imagine.
In New York it is always SALE. It is a part of the shopping.
Here is no Spring or Autumn SALE except maybe Black Friday,(the day after Thanks Giving in November) and the sale after Christmas and New Year, because here all shops want you to shop in their shop, therefore every shop is hunting customers with SALE. SALE is not always SALE but a way to get you into the store. 25% SALE is often the regular prise, then the initial price is to high and impossible to sell. But a good sale tactic.
But as we say, here you can shop til you drop. |
Now one knows were you have bought your Donna Karen sweater.
There are really exclusive shops that are selling those jeans from Calvin Klein or that sweater from Donna Karen. But if you don´t have that "big wallet" with you, you can find a whole lot of praiseworthy different shops , who also is selling "brand-names".
